About me

I'm an experienced, professional therapist, who trained at the world renowned Gestalt Centre in North London. As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work as a therapy practitioner at the Personal Growth and Development Centre in East Croydon as a counselling therapist. I also have experience in working closely with Samaritans as part of their listening training programme and is a therapeutic consultant for businesses.
I originally trained as an actor, but found that the part of acting that I loved was in fact not the performance of it, but the challenge of getting to know myself on a deeper level in order to explore and embody other characters. It was at this stage that I realised that I was deeply curious about people - how our background, culture and relationships shape who we are. It was this that lead me to my training in psychotherapy and to the belief that we hold the resources in order to create the change that we need inside of ourselves, but that the role of a psychotherapist is to enable access to deep self awareness and confidence in the people that we work with, in order for them to bring out meaningful, long lasting change in their lives.
Every client I meet is an individual, with their own story and their own unique reasons for coming to therapy. Therefore I work to create a relationship with my clients in which I am able to adapt my therapeutic approach to their needs, as opposed to offering only one modality or 'style' of psychotherapy. Often, people stepping into my counselling room feel lost, overwhelmed, or needing a change in their lives, so it is important that my clients feel supported and safe in their sessions with me, at the same time as being able to explore what they perhaps don't feel that they can with other people in their lives. Therefore I offer a supportive, creative and appropriately challenging therapy approach in order to work towards a deeper sense of self worth, self confidence and self motivation.
